Seponono Kekana - AWEaP

Ms Seponono Kekana is the founder and Chairperson of Dinong Investments, a holding company for Dinong engineering. She previously co-founded and led the initial development of SITES-AFLA in South Africa. Sites-Afla is a subsidiary of the SITES group of companies, a multinational structural health company with headquarters in France. She has been in the energy sector in the last 15 years and worked in various capacities in the fossil fuel and nuclear industry.

Ms Seponono Kekana is an experienced industrial engineer specializing in Asset Management. She holds various qualifications including a BSc Electrical Engineering, MSc Industrial Engineering, Short certificates in Financial Management, Payroll and Tax Administration, Compliance Management, Human Resources Management, Operations Management and Women in boards certification as well as management training. She has studied in three universities including the University of the Witwaterand, The University of Cape Town and Advacia Negocia in France.

Ms Seponono Kekana is a certified professional Engineer by the Engineering Council of South Africa and a certified Physical Asset Management practitioner by the South Africa Asset Management association

Ms Seponono Kekana has worked in leading engineering related companies in South Africa, Germany and France. She is a dynamic woman with a passion for women and youth empowerment, education and life in general. She is an ardent cook who enjoys connecting with people through food.

Ms Seponono Kekana has been in the energy industry for a long time. She worked herself in the industry from ground up. She believes that she has a lot to contribute. She has also been involved in lobbying activities for Nuclear energy as she believes it is key to sustainable development in Africa and it is clean. She believes that Africa needs Nuclear Energy to industrialize the continent. She sees her participation in such a platform to expand her work in this area. This combines two of her passions i.e. women empowerment and sustainable development of the continent through nuclear energy.
