AWEaP  held a working session to launch the Botswana AWEaP Chapter.

The session was chaired by AWEaP Botswana Country Chairperson Ms Segakweng Tsiane.

Honourable Minister Annah Mokgethi, Minister of Nationality, Immigration and Gender Affairs,  joined the working session and encourage women to work in collaboration to advance gender mainstreaming in Botswana’s power and energy sector.

The UN Women was represented by Ms Lydia Mafhoko-Ditsa.

Ms Khumo Nthla of WOESA attended the session and gave a riveting testimonies on the challenges of pursuing projects and advancing women participation in the energy sector.

AWEaP President, Ms Bertha Dlamini said:  It was encouraging to see how Batswana women are ready to work together with women across the region to accelerate women’s participation in the region’s energy and power sector.
