21 SEPTEMBER 2022
A Channel Partner Programme that brings large corporations and SMMEs together to advance localisation across the Renewable Energy, Green Tech and Digital Technology Sectors in South Africa and the African Continent.
The South African Electrotechnical Export Council (SAEEC) has partnered with African Women in Energy and Power NPC (AWEAP) to deliver a targeted and Sector-Specific Channel Partner Programme for the energy power and digital electronics sector.
This programme has the objective to recruit and train predominantly women-owned and managed energy and power companies to become channel partners for technologies, products, renewable energy solutions and other systems designated for localisation in South Africa.
It also aims to create a database of credible suppliers for South Africa and the global supply chains of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) operating in the Renewable Energy, Green Tech and Digital Technology Sectors in South Africa and the African Continent.
Under this collaborative partnership, The South African Electrotechnical Export Council will be preparing and presenting, on behalf of the electrotechnical sector, an application to the dtic’s Strategic Partnership Program (SPP). This program aims to encourage large private sector enterprises in partnership with the government to support, nurture and develop Small Micro Medium Enterprises (SMMEs) within the electrotechnical sector’s supply chain.
African Women in Energy and Power (AWEAP), will work industry associations and its partners in the public sector to rally support for the programme. AWEaP will utilise these linkages to recruit and present predominantly female-owned SMMEs within the Renewable Energy and Green Tech Sectors to participate in this sector-specific SPP.
The SAEEC and AWEaP are recruiting large companies in the electrotechnical sector (OEMs), specifically those with a focus in the Renewable and Green Energy sectors, to support women-owned SMMEs, under this programme, for a period spanning two to three-year cycle.
Our focus for the September 2022 webinar
We have invited the following stakeholders to participate in the webinar:
Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs):
Our monthly webinars in include OEMs for the following reasons: OEMs design and manufacture products, services, solutions and systems sought after by utilities and different large power users in the energy and power sector. We invite them to share trends in electricity system digitisation, decarbonisation and decentralisation. We invite them to showcase how they enable access to technology for SMMEs, especially women owned companies.
For the joint partnership with SAEEC and this webinar we had OEMs showcase their existing Channel Partner programmes in South Africa and other markets on the continent.
Government Departments:
We invited the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure, Department of Trade Industry and Competition and Department of Mineral resources and energy to speak on areas designated for localisation in the Renewable Energy, Green Tech and Digital Technology Sectors in South Africa
Our joint PMO gave a detailed presentation on how SMMEs and OEMs that are interested to participate and benefit from the programme can submit applications, and how OEMs can complete a non-obligatory expression of interest to participate.
Invest 2 hours to watch the webinar and enjoy the different perspectives shared by our esteemed industry leaders.
