AWEaP, with its current presence in 12 African countries through its dedicated chapters, is driven by a vision to expand its reach even further. The aim is to have Country Chairpersons in 45 countries, who will play a pivotal role in facilitating gender mainstreaming activities within their respective energy ecosystems. These exceptional women are trailblazers committed to leading transformative change in their countries. As Country Chairpersons, they will spearhead initiatives, advocate for gender equality, and drive the inclusion of women entrepreneurs in the energy sector. With their passion, expertise, and unwavering dedication, they will create an enabling environment where African women entrepreneurs can thrive, contribute to sustainable energy solutions, and shape a brighter future for their nations and the continent as a whole.

The upcoming launch of AWEaP’s B2B mission in 2023 is set to witness the participation of six dynamic African countries, bringing a total of 26 exceptional women entrepreneurs to Turkey. These visionary entrepreneurs represent the energy and power sectors of South Africa, Kenya, Zambia, Mozambique, Botswana, and Eswatini. With 5 entrepreneurs from South Africa and Zambia, 4 from Kenya, Mozambique, Botswana, and Eswatini each, these countries will showcase their diverse range of innovative solutions, expertise, and business models.

The B2B mission will serve as a platform for these remarkable women entrepreneurs to forge strategic partnerships, explore collaboration opportunities, and leverage the global energy ecosystem to drive transformative change in their respective countries and contribute to Africa’s sustainable energy future.
