AWEaP Just Energy Transition Skills Development Programmes

ENTREPRENEURS

AWEaP’s Just Energy Transition Skills Development Programme for energy entrepreneurs aspires to achieve a set of impactful outcomes that herald a new era of empowerment and progress within South Africa’s clean energy sector. Through our efforts, we envision a future where increased collaboration among energy entrepreneurs becomes the norm, enabling them to collectively overcome the barriers and challenges that have long hindered their advancement.

We partner with Academic Institutions and Industry Experts to curate programmes that are tailored for South Africa and its rapidly evolving energy ecosystem.

We are dedicated to enhancing the capacity of women entrepreneurs, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to thrive in the clean energy sector, ultimately leading to their greater participation in South Africa’s Energy Ecosystem.

As AWEaP continues to contribute to a transformative journey towards a more inclusive, sustainable, and prosperous energy future for South Africa, we acknowledge that industry stakeholders across multiple value chains plan an indispensable role in the ecosystem and can help us turn challenges for entrepreneurs into opportunities.

We aim to work collaboratively with industry stakeholders to pave the way for women to take the lead amidst the chaos, fostering a brighter and more equitable tomorrow.

The programme outcomes are as follows:

  • Enhanced capacity of women entrepreneurs to participate successfully in the clean energy sector.
  • Greater participation of women entrepreneurs in clean energy industries.
  • Increased collaboration among energy entrepreneurs, to overcome barriers and challenges.
Our motto to entrepreneurs Empower South Africa

Our program is driven by a set of ambitious objectives that collectively aim to catalyze meaningful change within South Africa’s Clean Energy Sector.

  • Women empowered for South Africa’s Clean Energy Sector: We promote the active involvement of women in the clean energy sector by enhancing their knowledge of developments in South Africa’s evolving energy sector.
  • Entrepreneurial Development: Our program provides entrepreneurs with information necessary for them to navigate South Africa’s Energy Ecosystem and identify entry points along several value-chains that present the lowest barriers to entry. We believe this approach will enable first time energy entrepreneurs and advanced energy entrepreneurs to excel in the sector as value-adding service providers and innovators.
  • Networking and Collaboration: We create networking opportunities that foster mutually beneficial collaborations among women energy professionals, policy experts, industry leaders, civil society organizations, and multilateral organisations to overcome challenges and promote a more vibrant and inclusive energy sector.
